Brooklands Sunday 28th July

Hello everyone

Sorry for the delay in posting about what I did on Sunday.

I hope you have all been ok. I have been but the hot weather we are currently experiencing in Surrey is making my fur all sticky. I know it's a lot hotter in other parts of the world but I'm just not used to it.

Anyway, on Sunday mummy, daddy and I went to Brooklands where they were having a vintage bus day.

I had a great time looking at all the buses and stalls selling bus paraphernalia and other bits and pieces.

It was really good weather with the occasion spit of rain, but I didn't mind the rain as I went for two trips around the local area on the buses there.

Hopefully speak to you all soon.

Lots of love
Ben

Prestwood Traction Engine Rally and Bredgar (or what I got up to last weekend)

Hello everyone

I hope you are all ok.

I am good though it's been a bit of a busy week so i didn't manage to get around to writing to you all about what I got up to last weekend.

Last Saturday we went to the Prestwood Traction Engine Rally which is held over two days every year near Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire. It's always held on the first full weekend of July so it's at least easy to remember when it's on.
They had lots of beautiful traction engines and rollers there. There was also a field of working engines, vintage cars, commercial vehicles and all sorts of other things.
There was also a craft tent for mummy to look at and stalls to buy lots of odds and ends. It was rather hot on Saturday which made my feet seem to get tired more quickly, but I had a great day all the same.

On Sunday we went to a private railway collection which opens about 9 times a year to the public. It's called the Bredgar and Wormshill Railway near Sittingbourne in Kent.
It's full of all sorts of narrow giage/industrial engines and other items the owners have collected. Some engines have worked here in the UK during their lives though some have come from much further a field. One engine called Limpopo worked on sugar cane plantations in Mozambique, which is in the South East of Africa.
I had a lovely day looking at everything, it was even nice when it rained a bit (much nicer than the heat we had the day before).
For more information on the railway and details on their open days visit their website;

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday planned.

Speak to you soon

Lots of love
Ben
