The Kirklees Light Railway 16th April 2015

Hello everyone

I hope you are all well.

I've been having fun at the North Yorkshire Moors steam gala this weekend.
But before we got there we went to the Kirklees Light Railway near Huddersfield on Thursday.

The railway is a 15 inch gauge railway that runs for 3 1/2 miles along what used to be the Clayton West Branch Line.

It runs between Clayton West and Shelley through lovely countryside. There were lots of animals to see along the way too.

I had a fabulous time, it was so sunny and warm I didn't even need my hat!

They have a turntable at West Clayton so that the engines are always facing the right way.
They even have Toby from Thomas the Tank living there.

I got to play in the play grounds at either end of the line and we had some yummy cake before continuing our journey north.

I think these types of trains are fascinating and I really enjoyed the ride and the day in general.
For more information about the Kirklees Light Railway why not visit their website  or even visit them in person. http://www.kirkleeslightrailway.com

Hope you all have a lovely week.
I'm off home today so I'll be in touch soon.

Lot of love
Ben
